Tasks

-Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing lamps, cleaning fixtures, and repairing damaged or malfunctioning lighting components. -Comply with all health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. -Carry out repairs and replacements of electrical components, including wiring, switches, ballasts, and control systems. -Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and equipment inventory. -Operate specialised equipment such as MEWP’s, and electrical testing devices to access and assess lighting fixtures located at elevated heights. -Respond promptly to reported lighting failures or outages and troubleshoot problems to determine the cause of the issue. -Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to traffic flow and adhering to established safety protocols. -As a Highways Lighting Operative, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of highway lighting systems such as streetlights, traffic signs and other street furniture. -Your primary goal will be to fix any faulty equipment quickly to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of lighting infrastructure to enhance visibility and road safety for drivers and pedestrians.

What You Bring

-Able to use a hand-held tablet to receive jobs and log repair reports. -If you are qualified to City and Guilds 2391 qualification this would be a benefit but not essential -Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and effective interaction with stakeholders and the public. -Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights, using appropriate safety equipment. -Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently. -Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all maintenance tasks. -Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety in the planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture training Course -It would be a benefit if you have some knowledge of work within 18th Edition regulations -We would look for you to hold IPAF/PASMA working at heights training
