The Role

Overview

Maintain, repair, install and align industrial equipment and machinery.

Tasks

-Plans and facilitates installation of new or refurbished machinery, which may include building platforms and foundations. -Ensures proper operation of large industrial equipment such as power generators, turbines, mining devices, assembly line machinery, and machinist tools. -Uses hand tools, hoists, jacks, spud wrenches, micrometers, laser alignment and power tools to assemble, install, align, and adjust piping, valves, pumps, and other various equipment. -Ensures machines perform to specifications by conducting tests; modifies and fine tunes machines. -Dismantling of existing connected and independent equipment. -Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details. -Assist with jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the hth companies' Safety Program. -Performs preventive maintenance makes repairs on older machines. -Provides advice and recommendations to management concerning new machinery. -Troubleshoots and repairs machines including when unexpected issues arise. -Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints. -Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture. -Conducts safety inspections of facilities. -Follows directions of manager / lead / superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed.

-Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. -Adaptable in methods used to complete task. -Thorough understanding of safety practices, guidelines, rules, and laws. -Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients. -Ability to problem solve and develop solutions. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, and prospective employees. -Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment. -Ability to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis. -Ability to work independently. -Ability to observe conditions and others as safety attendant staying alert while seated for long periods of time as needed. -Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. -Excellent communication skills - maintaining professionalism when communicating with staff and prospective employees alike. -Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment. -Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures. -Ability to read, analyze, and address complex data or situations. -Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10 hour within 60 days of starting at hth companies. -Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment in a safe and controlled manner. -Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. -Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement. -Ability to follow safety protocol and to report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager. -Ability to climb Ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift. -Basic math skills. -Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches. -Ability to read schematics and blueprints. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
