Overview
Lead Resident Care Associate overseeing staff and resident care in assisted living

Tasks
-Trains and orient new hires -Initiates daily RCA assignments -Integrates the individual resident’s life skills into their daily routine -Provides input for talent reviews, coaching and improved performance of Resident Care Associates -Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly & immediately; takes appropriate action including resetting call bells -Incorporate the concept of “Creating Pleasant Days” and “Joining the Journey” into the resident’s daily routine -Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions -Check all residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, any continence issues and change in condition -Ensures that ADLs for residents have been satisfactory completed which require multiple residents on different RCA assignments to be checked before the end of shift and followup to occur according to Phoenix policy -Provides assignments to RCAs -Ensures the hydration schedule established for the residents is maintained during the shift -Initiates, assigns, and assist with activities, as appropriate -Reviews communication log regularly throughout shift -Checks laundry rooms, common areas – including bathrooms – for cleanliness and any exposed hazardous chemicals; and takes appropriate action (i.e. contacting housekeeping, personally cleaning the room, securing the chemicals) -Reviews and understands the orientation checklist -Ensures that charting is completed as scheduled and checks for other noted events (i.e. admissions, returns from hospital) -Monitors attendance and assigns break times and assures proper staffing during break times -Invite and assist residents to activities and in life skills and other life enriching activities as indicated on the PSP -Encourages active participation and teamwork with the changing shifts and Leads shift crossover meetings -Checks on resident rooms daily for general cleanliness and neatness and takes appropriate action; ensures high risk rooms arte double checked -Assist Wellness Nurse with obtaining vitals, if necessary -Assist is managing the incontinence program

What You Bring
-Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals, preferred -Familiar with infection control -Understands and embraces the assisted living philosophy -Understands advanced directives and end-of-life care -Proficient in using MS Office -High School education preferred and may be required by the state -Has sound working knowledge of policy and procedures -Ability to handle multiple priorities -Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the RCA position -Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available to our customers at peak service delivery days and times -Demonstrate working knowledge of state regulations as they pertain to the job -Ability to react and remain clam in difficult situations -Previous experience working with seniors and desire to serve and care for seniors -Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and a level of understanding -Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their roles, skills and interest -Understands Phoenix core objective to incorporate all six elements of wellness into all resident care and services provided -Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing, preferred -Demonstrate leadership competencies, good judgment and decision making skills -Understands and able to implement Personalized Service Plans -Knows and complies with all resident rights -Demonstrate proficiency at reading and understanding a Personalized Service Plan (PSP) -Ability to make choices, decisions and act in the resident’s best interest
