Tasks

Own the end-to-end performance of a multi-site manufacturing network. Deliver P&L results, world-class safety and quality, and on-time, on-budget fulfillment while building a player-coach leadership culture and scalable operating system. -Translate strategy into an annual operating plan with KPIs for OTD, lead time, cost, quality, and safety. -Integrate Engineering with Operations for DFM/A, value engineering, and rapid NPI/ECN execution. -Build a high-performing leadership bench; set goals, coach, and hold teams accountable. -Achieve first-pass yield, DPPM, and warranty targets; embed APQP/PPAP (as applicable) and root-cause CAPA rigor. -Lead daily management (tiered visual management, Gemba) and continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen, Six Sigma). -Own P&L for assigned business/sites; deliver revenue growth, margin expansion, and working-capital targets. -Recruit and develop engineering and operations talent; drive engagement and retention. -Partner with Finance on standard cost, variance, and capital planning; with HR on workforce strategy; with IT on MES/ERP maturity. -Govern product configuration, standards, and compliance (UL/ISO/NFPA/IEEE as applicable). -Champion zero-injury culture; ensure OSHA/ISO 14001 compliance and site safety/fire protection readiness. -Drive throughput, capacity planning, SIOP, and constraint management for engineered-to-order (ETO/MTO) workflows. -Partner with Sales/PM to meet customer milestones for complex, high-ticket systems. -Oversee sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and dual-sourcing for long-lead, critical components. -Manage inventory, OTIF from suppliers, logistics, and make/buy (including outsourcing/CM where advantageous).

What You Bring

Bachelor’s in Engineering (ME/EE/IE) strongly preferred; MBA or equivalent business acumen a plus. Location: Roanoke, VA (On-site, up to 25% travel) -OTD ≥ 95%, lead-time reduction 20–30% on target product families. -Regulatory and standards familiarity: OSHA/ISO 9001/14001, NFPA, UL/IEEE (as applicable to product domain). -Bench strength improved (successor IDs for all key roles; voluntary turnover down). -Two waves of Lean transformation complete; Tier-1 visual management sustained across sites. -ERP/MES fluency (e.g., SAP/Oracle/Microsoft), KPI dashboards, and data-driven decision making. -Multi-site responsibility in companies of 2,000–5,000 employees and ≤10 facilities; direct P&L ownership ($100M+ preferred). -Deep collaboration with Engineering (DFM/A, VE, ECN control) and Supply Chain (negotiation, dual-sourcing, PPV, supplier quality). -Prior responsibility for EHS/fire protection programs and large-scale capital projects. -Background in transformers, power electronics, data-center infrastructure, or utility-grade equipment. -Recordable incident rate <1.0; audit-ready EHS/quality systems. -15–25 years progressive leadership in industrial manufacturing with engineered systems >$100k (e.g., power systems/transformers, power electronics, large HVAC/refrigeration systems, heavy equipment, rail/industrial instrumentation). -Supplier OTIF ≥ 95%, critical part lead-time reduced 15–20%. -Proven results in Lean/Six Sigma, SIOP, throughput/capacity, cost transformation, and complex ETO/MTO fulfillment. -Experience with outsourced/contract manufacturing and global supply chains.
