Ensure construction safety by inspecting sites, conducting audits, and managing EHS compliance.

Tasks
-Distribute open issues reports to project teams -Review JHAs for high hazard activities -Help develop corporate goals relating to company and project level EHS performance -Develop and apply practical solutions for project safety issues with assistance -Assist in identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of specialized knowledge, skill and abilities -Verify and close all identified hazards on project sites -Participate in project EHS kick off meetings with project team -SAFETY – Consistently works within DAVIS safety standards; promotes safety as a priority with coworkers, subcontractors and external clients -Record hours worked each week for all assigned projects for OSHA tracking -Participate in review of Monthly Project EHS Assessment with project team -Enforce EHS regulations with subcontractor and DAVIS personnel -Help develop and update corporate and project EHS policies and procedures -Identify special protective and safety equipment needs for projects with assistance -Participate in OSHA Inspections and consultations -Apply knowledge of psychological and physiological factors to assist in the installation of safety features and controls, compensating for the possibility of human errors in the operation of machinery and equipment -Work with subcontractors to develop overall satisfactory level of safety compliance on projects -COMMITMENT TO QUALITY – Applies DAVIS standards to produce high quality work on a consistent basis; produces work that is accurate and reliable, actively demonstrates excellence in service; builds and maintains integrity as a core function of their job and in their relationships with others -Participate in crane plan review -Provide instruction for DAVIS Competent Person and other EHS-related classes -Assemble and deliver project start up safety packages for new projects -Complete Monthly Project EHS Assessment -Conduct routine EHS Audits and inspections on projects using DAVIS-provided software -Assist with EHS Initiatives and Business Plan items -Assist project teams in planning for high-risk activities and project team inspection schedules -Assist teams in determining project signage and posting needs -Assist in personal injury and property damage accident investigations; compile data, photographs, and other necessary documentation for reporting purposes -Review proposed occupational safety policies, guidelines and standards to determine their consistency and recommend technical changes as needed -CHAMPIONS DAVIS BUSINESS – Consistently markets DAVIS business within the scope of their job; actively seeks and / or supports new business opportunities; actively builds relationships and encourages others to do the same -Prepare and present content for internal project team meetings and trade partner meetings -Perform routine walk through inspections of construction areas on small- to medium-sized projects with little to no assistance from other department members; and large-sized projects with assistance -Provide all information and documentation required on weekly incident log

What You Bring
-Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills* -Experience in occupational Environmental Health + Safety or a related field -Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures* -Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently* -Possess strong communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization and external to DAVIS* -Able to research and collaborate to obtain information for EHS-related issues -Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations* -OSHA 30 hour for contractors -Construction industry experience -Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health + Safety Sciences or related field; equivalent combinations of technical education and / or industrial related safety experience may substitute for educational requirement* -Current First Aid and CPR certifications
