Tasks

-Conduct market conduct risk assessments to inform compliance planning and identify control enhancements. -Prepare and file regulatory submissions (e.g., hedge exemptions, CFTC Form 40, FERC Form 552, market activity reports). -Develop and deliver annual compliance training and communication to trading, risk, and technology teams. -Partner cross-functionally with front-office, risk, and technology teams to refine frameworks and controls. -Oversee regulatory compliance across trading operations in U.S. power and gas markets (CFTC, FERC, EIA, ISO, and exchange requirements). -Support legal and compliance leadership in responding to market investigations or regulatory inquiries. -Advise traders on exchange rules, including position limits, exemptions, and related activities. -Monitor and analyze trading and communications data, recommending new surveillance methods in response to evolving activity or regulatory guidance.

What You Bring

Are you energized by the challenge of navigating compliance in a fast-moving, data-driven trading environment? -High ethical standards and sound judgment under pressure. -Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in identifying and mitigating compliance risk. -Curious and adaptable — quick to learn new systems, rules, and structures. -Familiarity with ISO markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, CAISO, ISO-NE) and Financial Transmission Rights. -Experience preparing regulatory filings and managing exchange correspondence. -Strong communicator and collaborator across functions. -5–15 years of compliance experience within energy or commodity trading environments. -Bachelor’s or master’s in finance, economics, business, or a related field. -Background in both physical and financial energy markets, ideally including algorithmic or systematic trading. -Strong working knowledge of ICE, CME, and Nodal exchange rules. -Comfortable taking ownership and driving processes end-to-end.
