The Role

Overview

Supervises field operations for heavy civil/highway construction projects.

Tasks

-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Direct and oversee daily field activities, including scheduling, workforce allocation, and equipment management. -Enforce Kiewit’s Zero Harm safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives. -Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports and timecards. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Mentor and develop field staff to build a strong, capable team. -Monitor progress, quality, and productivity; implement corrective actions when necessary. -Manage material deliveries and maintain inventory to prevent delays.

What You Bring

-Ability to travel and relocate based on project needs. -Excellent communication and organizational skills. -Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and bridge construction. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. -Regular, reliable attendance -Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors effectively. -Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
