Tasks
-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services -Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives -Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings -Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internship -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes -Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories -Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history

What You Bring
-Team player with the ability to work well independently -Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Ability to maintain excellent attendance -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August) -Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time -Genuine interest and passion for the field of purchasing/procurement -Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management or related -Regular, reliable attendance -Strong customer service and communication skills -Customer service and leadership experience -Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
