Tasks

A Solar Design Engineer is responsible for transforming project concepts into technical designs that maximize solar energy output, system efficiency, and reliability. This professional combines expertise in electrical engineering, renewable technologies, and design tools to produce layouts, energy yield simulations, and detailed engineering documentation. The role is vital to the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phase of solar projects. -Design complete solar PV systems, including module selection, inverter configuration, and string sizing. -Support commissioning teams with as-built drawings and technical clarifications. -Coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure design feasibility. -Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), cable layouts, and earthing designs using AutoCAD or Eplan. -Utilize PVsyst, Helioscope, or SolarGIS for energy modeling and optimization. -Stay updated with MNRE guidelines, DISCOM regulations, and grid codes. -Conduct site assessments, including shading analysis and energy yield simulations. -Prepare technical documentation for tender submissions and project execution. -Perform structural analysis and load calculations for mounting systems.

-Clear documentation and communication abilities. -2–6 years of experience in solar design (Rooftop / Ground-mounted / Floating Solar). -Analytical thinking for yield estimation and loss analysis. -Strong command over design software: PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp. -Problem-solving mindset and detail-oriented approach. -B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, or Renewable Energy Engineering. -Knowledge of IEC standards, safety codes, and electrical load calculations.
