Tasks

-Participates in marketing opportunities and develops successful client relationships for continuing business. -Uses graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope. -Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants throughout the schematic and design development phases. -Reviews work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. -Prepares schematic designs that optimize design solutions and plans with responsibility for presentation drawings, models, and narratives. -Applies knowledge of building technology, building materials, construction methods, costs, and code to the design process. -Mentors staff. -Preparing for ARE and active involvement in AXP -Participates and collaborates in internal design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups and external community engagements. -Evaluates design alternatives based on site and code requirements. -Prepares client presentation packages, external publications, and award submissions.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline -Proficient in BIM, building codes, site analysis, design studies, contract documentation, field measurements, life safety, specifications, and construction administration. -Demonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas. -Understands and consistently executes all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. -Proficient in graphic storytelling, sketching, and using Adobe Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, as well as physical modeling tools (3D printing, laser cutting). -Understands and responds to technical implications and design decisions. -Advanced in 2D/3D production tools, Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, VRay, and environmental analysis tools (Ladybug, Climate Studio). -Understands overall project goals and constraints, including client values, construction and design budget limitations, and schedule requirements. -Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation -8+ years of experience -LEED GA within 6 months of hire
