The Role

Overview

Fabricates and assembles construction components, sets up equipment, and leads a small team.

Tasks

-Designs and builds jigs and fixtures to produce repeatable parts. -Responsible for accurately reading and understanding a tape measure. -Sets up both automated and manual shop equipment for new operations. -Operates manual shop equipment; uses cut list to make repeatable parts. -Packages and loads cut materials and assemblies for transport to project sites. -Responsible for reading and understanding shop drawings, construction drawings, and other drawings applicable to production activities. -Applies basic trigonometry to production activities, such as the ability to determine an angle from given measurements. -Directs and leads tasks for a small production team. -Programs automated equipment that will be used to produce complex repeatable parts. -Collects multiple components cut to specific sizes and assembles together for an end product. -Sets up jigs and fixtures to produce repeatable parts. -Uses measuring and marking devices to lay out parts and pieces for fabrication. -Responsible for cleaning up the shop, shop equipment, and common areas. -Operates a variety of automated equipment, uses cut list to produce specific sized material.

What You Bring

-5+ years commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience (Preferred) -Ability to identify common construction materials and shop equipment -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally -Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner -Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds -High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) -Ability to follow-up on inquiries in a timely manner -Applies basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to production activities, such as cutting parts to size or putting multiple parts together in an assembly. -Must be comfortable working at projected heights and narrow workspace -Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen -Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Kneeling, Carrying, Swinging, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling, Balancing -Autonomy and Decision-Making: Follows directions and refers all exceptions to supervisor. -May require use of respirator -Must have reliable transportation -Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred) -Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs -In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. -Communication skills, verbal and written
