Design and engineer utility‑scale electrical distribution systems for Pacific Northwest projects.

Tasks

-Implement the project QA/QC plan -Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams -Engineer projects that will maintain and support various electrical utility systems by designing and creating detailed drawings, specifications and cost estimates for distribution systems. -Maintain the technical quality of the work -Helps assure that designed electrical facilities meet NEC, NESC, RUS and Cooperative and Specific utility standards -Collaborate with team members in an open communication culture, providing support in various disciplines as needed. -Perform electrical system modeling and analysis. Prepare written reports and information related to analysis -Develop the project understanding, approach, and work plan -Manage communications among the project team and client

What You Bring

-Ability to make decisions with guidance in accordance with established policies and procedures and use initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner -5 or more years of experience in distribution line design -Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in civil/electrical engineering or construction management (or closely related field) OR 5+ years of applicable electric utility industry experience -Engineering principles used in electrical utility system; RUS specifications and work order procedures; NESC and NEC regulations; legal descriptions, easements, and the permit application process; understanding of computer modeling of electric systems; essentials of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. -Proficient with Microsoft Office -Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and organizational skills -Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation -Strong understanding of electrical distributions systems and construction -Familiar with industry-specific technology and terminology -Competency in Spida Calc, Pole Foreman, O-Calc or other similar design programs -Professional Engineer license (PE)
