Manage diesel plant projects for Rural Generation program in NL

Tasks

-Ensure that potential impacts of project changes from cost, schedule, safety and quality/reliability perspectives are identified and communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner; -Initiate and monitor all aspects of projects to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets; -Ensure that work packages and developed and leveraged by the project team; -Establish and manage project risk registers; -Ensure that terms of agreements or commitments are understood and fully respected; -Set up project work orders; -Determine insurance requirements for projects in consultation with Hydro’s Risk and Insurance Division; -Establish the necessary level of site presence during project execution; -Complete project scope statements; -Complete monthly capital reports and accruals; -Ensure all approved changes are communicated to the project team and reflected in the active project budget and schedule; -Manage the commissioning phase of the work; -Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements; -Communicate with Operations / End User Client on a regular basis. -Develop realistic schedules in conjunction with the project team to complete projects; -Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope of work; -Ensure continual improvement is nurtured through lessons learned sessions, supporting innovative approaches and communication to other project teams; -Ensure project change requests are properly evaluated and authorized; -Identify and respond to issues, implement timely interventions or escalate as required to ensure project outcomes comply with project plans;

What You Bring

-Valid Canadian driver's license; -Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills; -Autonomy, attention to detail and initiative; -Experience completing work in isolated communities (an asset); -Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) through continual improvement and active participation in corporate HSE processes; -Minimum one year mandate (possibility of extension); -Experience with diesel generation equipment and around diesel plants; -Time and priority management skills. -Member of PEGNL (an asset);
