- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Transport planning.
- Evaluate the benefits & costs of different strategies.
- Perform statistical analysis to examine travel data or accident records
- Develop initial design ideas for new or improved transport infrastructure, such as junction improvements or pedestrian priority scheme.
- Use mathematical and computer simulation models to forecast the effects of road improvements, policy changes and/or public transport schemes.
- Design and interpret transport and travel surveys
- Work with project teams to develop design solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Preparation of detailed technical reports & proposals.
- Complete assigned tasks in accordance with quality, timescales, and budgeted hours set by the team lead.
- Ensure all design work is carried out in accordance with Mott MacDonald's quality standard procedures.

- Strong interpersonal skills supporting collaborative working with colleagues.
- Previous experience in UK Transport Policy.
- Agile working
- Some coding experience (VBA / Python) and GIS Capability (ESRI)
- Experience in junction modelling (Linsig)
- Member of recognised institution.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - finding a range of solutions, understanding their effects and making recommendations.
- Experience in preliminary junction design (Autodesk)
- Experience of working with teams in other parts of the world.
- Proficiency with handling large datasets (MS Excel)
- Good command of Microsoft Office package.
- You will possess a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Planning/Urban Planning/Transport Planning, or an equivalent qualification, along with more than 3+ years of post-graduate experience in Planning.
- Membership of related professional organisation (s).
- Ability to work as part of a team is a must with ability to work unsupervised or minimum supervision.
