Tasks
This role involves taking projects from inception to completion, including client liaison, and managing project costs. The position focuses on new build residential, mixed-use developments, fire remedial works, re-cladding works and refurbishment projects, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality cost consultancy and project management services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills, with a proven ability to manage budgets, different stakeholders within the projects, cost control, and contractual matters effectively. -Deliver Employer’s Requirements, Performance Specifications, and Contractor Appraisals. -Chair and minute pre-contract meetings. -Maintain project risk registers, action logs, and program schedules. -Production of cost plans and budget management across RIBA Stages 0–5. -Procurement including full tender process including tender reporting. -Monitor and value relevant instructions, over see certificates, and notices. -Management of JCT and development agreements, including design and build contracts. -Oversee contractor payment applications and advise on cash flow forecasts. -Manage multidisciplinary teams to develop viable and technically deliverable schemes. -Support in contractual disputes and claims, including cost reconciliation and final accounts. -Preparation of cost/benefit analyses and open-book evaluations. -Bid writing to secure new business. -Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring they receive the information needed for decision-making and reporting. -Conduct pre-contract investigations and manage due diligence, including sustainability issues. -Support Contract Administrator’s to chair and minute site meetings. -Liaise closely with clients, contractors, developers, consultants, and other key stakeholders. -Produce cost plans from drawings and prepare estimates for residential and mixed-use projects. -Negotiating and agreeing contracts including JCT and NEC. -Chair project meetings and provide value engineering advice.

What You Bring
-Strong understanding of design management. -Proficiency in Excel, Word, and MS Teams. -Familiarity with fire remediation work and affordable housing practices. -Minimum 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy, including new build and refurbishment projects. -Experience with high-rise cladding and replacement projects. -Knowledge of building costs, practices, and sustainability requirements. -Experience with measurement of drawings and software tools like Cost X/Bluebeam. -Proven ability to manage financial reconciliations, budgets, and contractual matters effectively.
