The Role

Overview

Operate heavy equipment to load, haul, place, compact, and cover waste at GFL.

Tasks

-Maintain appearance of the grounds and facility. -Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily -Operator will clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment by pulling and or cutting material away from tracks and gear mechanisms at least once daily or more if needed. -Contribute to the sustainable growth of your community through the Full Circle Project -Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily. -Some manual labor may be required to erect and dismantle litter fences and move on site fixtures. -Operate equipment to load, haul, place, compact and cover waste.

What You Bring

-Demonstrate ability to follow instructions and work under little supervision. -Ability to obtain Transfer Station / Landfill Operations Certification if needed. -Work in outdoor environment 100% of the time. -Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds. -Ability to perform the four basic functions of math and to be able to read and understand the meaning of equipment gauges. -Operator certification for excavator, wheel loader and forklift is required -Experience with excavator, front end loader, dozer is required and experience with articulated truck, landfill compactor and on site roll off truck is ideal. -Must have the ability to read, speak, understand and write the English language.
