Tasks

-Conducting technical and commercial appraisals of labour, plant, materials, and temporary works. -Presenting tenders at review meetings to senior management. -Analysing and pricing risks associated with tenders. -Discuss and agree resourcing and works outputs with Planner, Bid Manager and delivery team working on the tender. -Performing take-offs from drawings and producing cost-effective tenders based on first principles. -Preparing and managing tenders from the receipt of documents through to delivery. -Preparing tender submission deliverables -Provide support, mentoring & guidance to Assistant Estimators and anyone else within the department who may require such support, mentoring & guidance -Support and employee infrastructure embedded in the business as a platform for personal and professional development creating pathways for unrivalled career development and progression opportunities internally. -Liaising with the Supply Chain team on supplier/subcontractor inquiries. -Assisting in the proposals and contract management functions. -Work closely with the other functions in the department to develop and implement bid winning strategies from early in the tender process.

What You Bring

-Expertise in First Principles estimating. -Experience in a site-based or operational role prior to your estimating career is highly advantageous. -Previous experience as an Estimator in a civil engineering infrastructure setting, particularly in multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks. -A solid background in Civil Engineering projects. -Causeway software experience and knowledge is desirable.
