Tasks

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop within the UK market leading road marking and highways safety business, contributing to the successful delivery of essential highways schemes, local authority and private sectors across the UK. -Measurement and valuation of main and subcontract works (including take-offs). -Supporting risk management and mitigation across projects. -Preparation, submission, and agreement of interim and final accounts with full supporting documentation. -Advising project teams on commercial and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and industry standards. -Preparation and submission of estimates and tender costings. -Driving continuous improvement and best practice in commercial processes. -Drafting, negotiating, and administering subcontract agreements, including procurement and payments.

What You Bring

This is a full-time permanent position based across the South regions. Ideally you will be based at one of our depots (Reading, Milton Keynes, Croydon or Essex) however travel between all sites may be required. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in WJ South. The successful candidate will provide commercial support managing commercial aspects across a variety of Clients and contract types. Ideally you will have a background in highways contracting or similar. You will provide support on a range of projects, ensuring effective cost management, accurate forecasting, and strong contractual control. -Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites. -Accurate commercial forecasting, including CVRs, margins, and financial reports. -Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential). -Identification, valuation, and agreement of variations, compensation events, and claims. -Preferred degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management. -Proven experience as QS ideally with highways, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects. -Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under pressure to meet deadlines. -Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work confidently with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. -Proficient in MS Office and relevant commercial management software. -Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
