The Role

Overview

Support warehouse ops: load/unload, pick orders, pack, operate equipment, ensure safety.

Tasks

-Assists customers, installers, or subcontractors by fulfilling orders or locating materials. -Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor. -Prepares items for shipment or customer pickup by securely packaging materials using shrink wrap, strapping, or other protective methods. -Verifies product accuracy and condition before staging or shipping. -Maintains a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures. -Operates forklifts or other material handling equipment to move goods safely and efficiently. -Loads, unloads, sorts, picks, stocks, stages, and transports materials throughout the warehouse and yard. -May drive company vehicles to pick up or deliver materials as needed. -Installs protective devices such as bracing or padding to prevent damage during transport. -Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.

What You Bring

-HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility. -Willingness to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. -Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. -Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and material handling procedures. -Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials. -Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. -Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely. -Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. -Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
