The Role
Overview
Administers US/Canada payroll, handles reporting, compliance, and employee support.

Tasks
-Work with the Benefits team with the coordination of employees’ leaves, including but not limited to accurate recording of payments made while on leave and manual adjustments to reflect proper year-to-date totals. -Research and resolve questions from managers and employees as they relate to the processing of payroll information such banking, garnishments, retroactive pay calculations, and other changes. -Produce payroll reports, reconciliations, change and audit reports and distribute to appropriate team members including but not limited to Benefits and Accounting teams. -Process off cycle payrolls including commissions and bonus runs; prepare manual payments as needed. -Respond to payroll-related inquiries, resolving issues quickly and professionally. -Coordinate all aspects of US 401(k) and Canadian retirement plans as relates to payroll including deferrals, loans, payroll contributions, and continuous auditing. -Provide support and train employees and leaders on the use of current payroll system. -Process all child support, garnishment, and third-party pay notices. -Process all data changes including but not limited to new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and position changes. -Maintain discretion when dealing with sensitive employee information and financial data. -Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. -Stay up to date with payroll processing systems, industry best practices, and evolving wage and tax laws at the federal, state and local levels. -Administer bi-weekly US and Canada payrolls, including detailed reconciliation and auditing for accuracy prior to transmission. -Work closely with the Benefits team to ensure accurate benefit deductions and record keeping. -Communicate with the HRBP team to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, leaves, and rate changes. Ensure updates are made as needed by the correct party. -Work with the HRIS (Dayforce) team on projects, as needed. -Assist end users in understanding system content and proper use of the Dayforce application. -Prepare and maintain payroll documentation (SOPs), data standards, and procedures. -Conduct root cause analysis for payroll discrepancies and develop documented solutions to prevent recurrence. -Ensure accurate pay, recording, and distribution of reports to end users. -Process all direct deposit changes.

What You Bring
-Ideal candidate must have experience processing multi-state payroll. Canadian payroll a plus. -Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus. -Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. -HCM Dayforce experience a plus. -Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and assist employees efficiently. -Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field a plus. -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ten years or more of related experience required; including five years or more as primary payroll processor. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Expert ability to deliver world-class customer service including responding to and assisting employees with payroll inquiries.
