System Test Engineer

Overview

Develop and execute test plans for networking hardware, debug, and support manufacturing.

Tasks

 Performs Troubleshooting at the System Level.  Follows and contributes to test standards and procedures on a wide range of major product This position is responsible for developing and executing test plans associated with Networking hardware products. Debug HW through the use of tests and Test Equipment to apply and maintain quality standards for Hardware products. Works closely with MFG to ensure the Product  Contributes to process and procedural documentation.  Generates Test requirements for others to develop and execute.  Gathers and analyzes test data reports as well as Bug writing, Troubleshooting, and debugging.  Responsible for upholding the companies Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting Requires direct management to complete the majority of development tasks.  Assists Senior and Principal Test Engineers where needed.  Conducts internal presentations.  Collaborates with team members and technical leads.  Performs system testing of new products, as well as new releases of existing products.

transition from NPI to MFG is successful. Collaborates with peers and assigned Project teams.  Strong networking experience and understanding of Server Architectures.  Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.  Successfully manages ambiguity with limited direction.  Job requires the ability to lift to 50 lbs.  Solid analytic / trouble-shooting skills. (evenings and weekends). Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% of the time spent traveling.  Typically 1-3 years of experience in PCA or System Level MFG Test.  Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.  2+ years PCA/System MFG experience.  UNIX/Linux experience preferred.  Solid knowledge and experience with test methodologies used in HW Test.  BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and  Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communications.
