Warehouse Team Lead

Tasks

-Oversees the daily workflow; oversees scheduling and assignments of the assigned team. -Operates forklift truck when necessary. -Maintains detailed and accurate work records. -Work with management if products are missing or damaged within a shipment. -Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. -Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment, including forklift trucks, conveyor equipment, and specific portions of tractor-trailer and over-the-road trucks. -Inspects quality and quantity of supplies and equipment delivered to the team. -Resolves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees. -Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits. -Verifies that outgoing deliveries meet company quality standards, and that order slips match and have the appropriate signatures. -Communicating with management about any inventory issues -Orders new equipment as requested by management. -Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives. -Ensures inventory accuracy, housekeeping, and order of the warehouse. -Ensuring that work is performed safely, and that proper use of PPE is adhered to in the area. -Ensures that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments. -Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory. -Assists with hiring and training of team members. -Leads by example through 5S Methodology. -Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.

What You Bring

-Ability to motivate a team to accomplish objectives. -Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors. -Basic understanding of inventory control procedures. -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. -Minimum of 3 years' experience in the manufacturing warehouse field. -Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision. -Forklift operator certification preferred. -Ability to perform the physical labor necessary. -Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low. -Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and performing repetitive tasks. -Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions. -Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers. -High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. -Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time. -Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
