Tasks

This role is responsible for maintaining workplace safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing operational risks effectively. The ideal candidate will be skilled in conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and hazard assessments using Gensuite. They will also have experience implementing HSE policies, delivering training programs, and developing emergency response plans to strengthen safety culture and promote continuous improvement. To treat, recover and recycle more than 80% of the waste that flows through our fleet and facilities using innovative sustainable solutions that satisfy our customers’ needs. -Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) -Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports. Report mishaps and near misses in Gensuite application. -Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections in Gensuite application. -Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities example: hot work, working at heights, energy, equipment, excavation, entry into confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during internal Meetings -Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site. -Conduct regular emergency drills and assists in developing and reviewing the emergency plans. -Ensure employees compliance with safety and health requirements. -Update risk and environmental impact assessment accordingly with business requirement and regular reviews. -Assist in reviewing and assessing new projects/modifications from the HSE point of view. -Attend the client/consultant meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings. -Carry out regular inspection of Fire and Safety systems and equipment. -Assist and participate in evaluating and reporting HSE across Averda. -Assist in identifying HSE training needs. -Conduct hazard identifications, risk assessments, environmental impact assessment and suggest control measures. Highlight findings and follows-up implementation of appropriate risk and impact control measures. -Conduct induction/awareness training as and when required. -Provide and keep a record of site safety orientation and indoctrination for contractor employees, subcontractor, and site visitors

What You Bring

-Waste management industry experience will be advantageous -HSSEQ Systems Audit skills (Added advantage) -Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of HSSEQ -Knowledge of Risk Management -Must hold NEBOSH certifications -Certified ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Internal auditor (Advantage) -Ability to communicate in English and Arabic, knowledge of Hindi, & Urdu desirable -Knowledge in HSSEQ Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001/ OHSAS 18001) -At least 2-4 years’ experience in HSSEQ management systems -Holding degree (or equivalent) in related field
