Overview

Construction laborer performing physical tasks on highway/heavy construction sites.

Tasks

-Load and unload equipment from trucks. -Assist in installing pipes and drains. -Train apprentices and new hires in construction labor work. -Fill potholes to facilitate the construction process. -Place traffic signs to warn traffic of construction in progress. -Prepare site to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures. -Ensure all project work is complaint with installation standards and is being performed safely and correctly. -Erect temporary structures. -Use hand tools to cut and shape material as per instructions. -Dig trenches as instructed. -Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and bring problems to the attention of the foreman. -Execute job deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements. -Ensure that all work is being done in compliance with the company's protocols. -Promote and monitor the safety of team members. -Manage cost control, margin expectations, productivity, change orders and equipment reporting. -Clean and maintain construction equipment appropriately. -Clean debris, trash, and hazardous materials from construction site.

What You Bring

-Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more). -Education: High school diploma (preferred). -DOT drug screen required -Agility and flexibility to navigate construction sites and access work areas, including climbing ladders and scaffolding. -Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain. -Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. -Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day. -Experience: Knowledge of gas installation techniques and standards, has limited experience (preferred). -Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels. -Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. -Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
