Tasks
-Support Sales and Engineering departments to structure global transactions to ensure adherence with US/Canada import/export laws and regulations, as well as laws/regulations of foreign jurisdictions. -Helps the customer achieve their business goals through the application of own skill, behaviours and knowledge. -Oversee the review and approval of all commercial invoices, license applications, and any other paperwork required for international shipments. -Keeps the customer (internal or external) as the focal point of all activity and strives to address customer needs and concerns. This perspective includes: -Liaise with Price’s selected Customs Brokers. -Promotes cooperation, collaboration and partnerships between individuals or groups both inside and outside of the company. -Oversee the required record retention of documents to ensure recordkeeping and reporting requirements are maintained in accordance with the Canadian, U.S. & other foreign regulations. -Shares information with other groups or divisions. -Support managing Price’s trade program, which includes export/import classifications, licensing determinations, denied party screenings and sanctions programs, identifying deemed exports. -Picks up on technical aspects of the job quickly in order to do the job at a high level of accomplishment. -Works with others to achieve win/win successes. -Demonstrates Price’s strong commitment to customers by ensuring timely and high quality support and high-level presence during critical times or events. -Sets aggressive deadlines and manages to those deadlines. -Maintain regular communication with buyers, manufacturing leadership and product managers to ensure alignment with business direction. -Deliver reporting on Price’s compliance activities. -Encourages and values creative solutions to customer needs. -Interface with other business functions to ensure documentation is accurate and maintained. -Provides current, direct, complete, and "actionable" positive and corrective feedback to others. -Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities and reading the situation quickly. -Monitor the conduct of business activities for adherence to import/export procedures throughout the business, including early-stage review of new models and classification of commodities through final delivery to customers. -Responsible for the correct classification, usage and reporting of Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), tariff codes (HTS), Country of Origin information (COO), and Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and other required information as necessary. -Expresses unique ideas and takes action that will generate successful customer solutions. -Analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement. -Recognizes the business concerns and interests of others. -Gain knowledge of regulations, statutes, and laws regarding trade compliance requirements impacting Price’s business activities. -Sets objectives and goals and breaks down work into the process steps. -Uses resources effectively and efficiently and arranges information in a useful manner. -Looks at ways to combine and unify efforts across the organization to address common issues and objectives. -Monitors process, progress, results and designs feedback loops into work. -Analyze current supply chain and business systems to ensure consistent trade practices. -Work with management to implement any identified corrective actions. -Support international business development by creating processes that support trade compliance as well as gather information to support international relationship development. -Anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks.

At Price action oriented means that the organization and people within the organization are nimble and have the ability to move forward quickly by using experience based knowledge and reasonable analysis. -Demonstrate accountability and knowledge on trade compliance topics. -Working knowledge of North American or International import/export trade requirements. -Has the ability to think clearly and is a settling influence in a crisis and during stressful times—Is cool under pressure and does not become defensive or irritated. -Working knowledge of international import/export trade/customs requirements. -Is tolerant with people and processes; listens and checks before acting; tries to understand the people and the data before making judgments and acting. -Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field is an advantage -Can handle stress—Is not knocked off balance by the unexpected and doesn’t show frustration when resisted or blocked. -Awareness of customs clearance processes, including entry documentation and broker coordination. -Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects -Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments without compromising quality. -Detail oriented -Shows leadership potential, collaborates effectively, and delivers exceptional customer service with high ethical standards. -Naturally comfortable with the detail and rigor of execution. -Sets clear objectives and measures and is very bottom-line oriented. -Has a keen interest in continuous learning and has the ability to learn new skills quickly. -Has an interest and skill at developing relationships with others on both a personal and business level. -The natural inclination is to move over obsessively analyzing. -Maintains a conscious balance between work and personal life so that one doesn't unduly dominate the other; is not one-dimensional; knows how to attend to both and is able to get what he/she wants from both. -Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate international trade role or customs compliance. -Is considered mature and can be counted on to hold things together. -CCS/CTCS credentials are an advantage. -Always demonstrates respect and grace when dealing with people related issues. -Believing the evidence of the customers’ eyes. -Enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and quickly grasps the essence and the underlying structure of the role. -Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently; values time; concentrates his/her efforts on the more important priorities; gets more done in less time than others; can attend to a broader range of activities. -Is prepared to “take one for the team”. -Natural instinct for doing the most critical and difficult task first. -Excellent planning, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills. -Understanding of free trade agreements and product qualification under them. -Strong PC application skills including complement of Microsoft Office software. -Good at focused listening and can hammer out tough agreements and settle disputes equitably, finding common ground and getting cooperation with minimum noise. -Skilled in developing and delivering effective training programs and presentations to diverse audiences.
