The Role
Overview
Oversee construction schedule, safety, quality, and crew management on telecom projects.

Tasks
-Identifies other training needs for the crew and advises Superintendent or Construction Manager. -Facilitates a safe work culture, is accountable for the safety of the crew and must understand the legal liability of the role; ensuring crew members apply the standards for safe working conditions and are fit for work each day. -Promotes, supports, and facilitates teamwork and harmony between all construction crews by promoting and fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude among all project crews, regardless of craft makeup. -Ensures that all functions and operations on the job are following local legislative requirements. -Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company’s Safety and Environment Policies and QC Plans. -Responsible for, or assists the Superintendent in, the overall planning and scheduling to ensure that the project is constructed in a timely and cost-effective manner. -Sets and maintains work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity. -Communicates the job to and with the crew. -Ensures that Company policies and project procedures are being adhered to. -Monitors the overall progress of the project and takes corrective action where necessary. -Directs and maintains discipline and morale of the project staff. -Coordinates and monitors the three main functions – Administration, Engineering and Construction. -Assigns individual and crew tasks. -Ensures that the Superintendent is being advised of all extra work and claims before work has started. -Assesses competency and capability of tradespersons; evaluating crew capability and benchmarking to others to ensure that the crew meets required levels of quality. -Ensures new crew members are oriented to the job. -Represents the Company with the owner. -Keep daily notes and diaries as required. -Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

What You Bring
-Required: walking, lifting, operating equipment, etc. -Ability to work long hours per day in inclement weather conditions if required. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. -Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills. -Experience in Pipeline Distribution work or Telecommunications work -Technical school background or at least five years of construction experience. -Ability to understand construction drawings and mark up as required.
