Support with the management of subcontractors, daily briefings, progress tracking, and short-term lookaheads.
Take accountability for ensuring the subcontractor quality documentation is implemented and adhered to. Ensure accurate record keeping and establish processes to provide certainty on construction compliance.
Support with the development and maintenance of 4-week lookahead programmes, and monitor progress.
Oversee subcontractor setting-out and survey control, providing assurance checks; manage as-builts, red-lines, and test/inspection records against ITPs.
Interface with utilities teams for crossings/diversions; embed HSG47 controls and Permit-to-Dig.
Ensure subcontractor safe systems of work are implemented, and support the team in ensuring compliance.
Coordinate temporary works design and permits on the highway, maintaining safe systems and public protection. Deliver all works in line with permanent and temporary designs.
Support the Engineering team by raising any required RFIs, change requests, or non-conformances for sign-off.
Maintain daily records, progress measures and handover documentation; support commercial change with clear evidence.
Support with the preparation of any documentation required for consents.
Collate files for quality records for relevant works.
Support with the ordering of any material and equipment needed to deliver the works.
Assist with the development and preparation of any documentation – produce ITPS, RAMs and VTS as needed.
Plan and sequence your section of work (method statements, RAMS, permits), ensuring programme certainty.

Efficient with digital record-keeping and stakeholder communication.
Knowledge of NRSWA.
Strong working knowledge of surveying/setting-out, QA/ITPs, and temporary works coordination.
Working knowledge of DMRB, Chapter 8 and local authority standards is desirable.
Working towards accreditation, such as IENG for the ICE.
Section Engineer experience on UK infrastructure. Highway experience is desirable, but a proven record in civil construction on infrastructure schemes is acceptable.
