Tasks

-Payroll Processing Support -Collaborate with project managers and accounting to ensure hours are charged to the correct project codes. -Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws. -Maintain payroll documentation, such as pay schedules, tax forms, and deductions. -Communicate with employees regarding discrepancies in pay or missing documentation. -Review and verify time entries submitted by employees to ensure accuracy and proper categorization of hours (regular, overtime, etc.). -Work with supervisors and department heads to approve or correct time entries. -Communicate with employees to address any discrepancies in time entries or approvals. -Monitor project codes for compliance and accuracy and address any inconsistencies. -Assist in calculating regular and overtime pay. -Assign and maintain accurate project codes in the payroll system for employee hours worked. -Process adjustments to employee pay, such as wage garnishments and reimbursements. -Support the Payroll Specialist with quality control and error monitoring. -Enter and update employee wage data, hours worked, and pay details into the payroll system. -Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including tax withholdings and deductions. -Ensure timely submission of timesheets and address any issues related to missed or late entries. -Prepare reports related to payroll, employee compensation, and project costs. -Assist in processing garnishments and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. -Monitor payroll deadlines and ensure timely submissions. -Assist in the reconciliation of payroll accounts and batch processing. -Assist with the generation of reports that break down labor costs by project. -Respond to basic employee payroll inquiries and escalate complex issues to Payroll Specialist. -Ensure accurate employee data related to new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. -Assist in resolving discrepancies between payroll and departmental budgets. -Prepare and distribute employee paychecks or direct deposit details.

What You Bring

-Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s) and criminal background check. -Administrative or clerical experience in payroll, accounting, or HR is a plus. -Strong mathematical and calculation skills. -High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in accounting or related field preferred). -Basic understanding of payroll principles, time tracking, and project coding. -Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and payroll software (preferred). -Good verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to work collaboratively with HR, accounting, and project management teams. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
