Senior Design Engineer

Schneider Electric

The Role

Overview

Design and integrate MV air/gas insulated switchgear, leading product development and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • switchgear design
  • cad modeling
  • tolerance analysis
  • fmea management
  • bom management
  • system integration

Tasks

Develop electronic and hard copy records that conform to internal standards and support the development, implementation, and maintenance stages of the projects/products. Examples include up to date BOM (part number, description, material, processes, where 1. Designing medium voltage switchgear equipment Prepares accurate layout, detail and assembly drawings. Responsible for the design of Medium Voltage air and gas insulated switchgear Recommends changes or modifications as appropriate to meet manufacturability, functionality, and measurability requirements. Prepare instructional/operational information as required. As a Senior Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design and integration of Medium Voltage (MV) air & gas insulated switchgear. You'll participates in cross functional teams to define requirements, analyze feasibility, and propose solutions that meet customer needs. This engineer helps conduct system analysis to resolve tradeoffs and drives integration of system engineering tools and processes across platforms to optimize performance. Manages resolution of system compatibility and performance issues. Lead interface with manufacturing and quality organizations to ensure that a well-optimized and sustainable component/assembly is developed from fabrication/assembly concerns (Tolerance Analysis). Generates and maintains organized database and/or B.O.M., change reports and/or other documentation. 6. Creation and use of Fault Tree Analysis Prepares and oversees final layout, detail, assembly drawings, and other required documentation. Creation of multiple component/assembly solutions to envisioned product concept. Accountable for investigating and procuring all data required to develop complex designs. Prepares sketches or diagrams reflecting basic design concept. Makes mathematical calculations and adjustments in drawings and specifications. If needed, manages the execution of verification & validation in laboratories and provides the analysis of results & reports to internal customers. Prepares sketches and/or schematic diagrams. Perform mechanical analysis of mechanisms (tolerance, stress, deformation, kinematic) Creates computer models of the product design concept Development to be synchronized with changes/advances to existing product releases. This includes manipulation of appropriate CAD software. Fulfills technical missions, with autonomy to propose/develop complex solutions in Medium Voltage air and gas insulated switchgear. May have hierarchical or functional responsibilities. May provide mentoring, instructions/assistance. 7. Creation and management of Design and Application FMEAs Helps establish internal procedures and best practices.
