Tasks

-Promotes a work environment that fosters openness, trust, effective communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and employee satisfaction. -Provides technical oversight in developing essential deliverables, including Mechanical Equipment Specifications, Datasheets, Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, Inspection and Test Plans, vendor document reviews, and inspection reports. -Prepares and assists with formal communications to vendors and clients regarding mechanical equipment matters. -Communicates complex technical issues, recommending solutions to project engineering management. -Responsible for engineering activities on medium-sized projects, coordinating globally distributed teams. -Manages schedule and cost performance, supporting change management through the trend program. Collects and interprets engineering progress data for project control reporting. -Leads engineering teams, overseeing direct reports and organizing team deliverables to achieve project goals. -Prepares or contributes to conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders. Reviews and approves key engineering drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. -Plans engineering activities by interpreting project scope, applying industry codes and standards, and developing schedules and budgets for deliverables and design reviews. -Leads the mechanical engineering team in coordinating with other disciplines, clients, suppliers, contractors, and groups during the detailed design phase of mechanical equipment. -Provides coaching, mentorship, performance reviews, and career development discussions.

What You Bring

-Thoroughly familiar with industry regulations and codes such as API, ASME, BS, and others. -Applicant must have BEng./ MEng. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or an allied engineering discipline. -Experienced in Pre-FEED, FEED, and PMC project phases, with robust knowledge of modern process technologies and licensors. Skilled in mechanical equipment, both static and rotating, encompassing selection, sizing, design calculations, materials evaluation, and the development of engineering deliverables. -Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status from a recognised engineering council / professional engineering licensing board is preferred. -Deeply understands interdisciplinary coordination, construction practices, project economics, and integrates engineering requirements into plant constructability, methodologies, and material selection. Adept at commercial and procurement activities, engineering planning, and control related to mechanical equipment. -Demonstrated leadership as a group supervisor with comprehensive knowledge of Bechtel's work processes and standards. -Demonstrates technical competence to independently develop deliverables and conduct design reviews when needed. -Delivers excellent oral and written communication, facilitating collaboration with mechanical, multidisciplinary teams, project management, and clients. -Highly experienced in Middle Eastern projects, particularly brownfield operations, with strong familiarity with Aramco standards and specifications. -At least 15 years of experience in the Energy Transition, Petrochemical and / or Oil and Gas industry. -Excels at troubleshooting in field and job site settings and provides effective guidance and solutions to resolve mechanical and process challenges. -Possesses an extensive background in planning and executing greenfield and brownfield initiatives across major sectors, including eFuels, Waste-to-Energy, Renewable Energy, natural gas processing (liquefaction/regasification), chemicals from coal/gas/biomass, refining/coker operations, petrochemicals (Cracker, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, PVC, VCM, PTA, PET), carbon capture and sequestration, solar and combined cycle power plants, hydrogen value chain (reforming, liquefaction, transport, fueling stations), offshore/onshore pipelines, desalination, raw water, demineralized and wastewater treatment.
