Overview

Repair and test large AC/DC motors and generators in a shop

Tasks

-Prepare parts for assembly. -Assemble and test rotating machine for specified performance. -Test, inspect, evaluate, dismantle, repair, and reassemble AC and DC electric motors, generators, and pumps. -Measure and record machined parts fits. -Examine all parts for cracks, wear, rubbing, broken or out of tolerances for specific parameters. -Examine coil connections for broken or defective wiring. -Test coils, armatures, stators, rotors and field coils for continuity, shorts and grounds and insulation resistance -Disassemble and remove armature, stator or rotor from frame or stators. -Examine bearings, shafts, and other moving parts for excessive wear of defects. -Remove bearings from shafts and/or housings.

What You Bring

-Must have and maintain a good criminal background check. -Must be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs -All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening. -Must be able to fluently read, write and speak English. -Must be willing and able to work regular overtime including nights, weekends, and some holidays. -Periodic evening, weekend and holiday work will be required, subject to project scope and customer hours. -Experience on inspecting, dismantling, and reassembly of large AC and DC industrial motors or wind generators up to 3,000 HP. -Strong mechanical aptitude. -Must be and remain Drug-Free; subject to periodic, unannounced random drug tests. -Possible to be on a 2 nd shift 3:30pm to 12:30am Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. -Experience safely operating overhead cranes.

Benefits

-First 8 hours: 1.5× base hourly rate -All hours: 2× base hourly rate -Overtime – regular overtime should be expected, with occasional long weeks to meet production demands. -Over 8 hours/day: 1.5× base hourly rate -All hours worked on a company holiday: 3× base hourly rate -Over 12 hours/day: 2× base hourly rate -Travel – occasional overnight trips away from home to attend industry conferences or visit customers. -Hours – typical work hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. -Over 12 hours: 2× base hourly rate
