Junior Structural CAD Technician

Assist engineers with bridge drafting using OpenBridge Designer and related tasks.

Tasks

-Provide assistance to engineers using OpenBridge Designer to create bridge detail plans and perform minor design work on bridge projects -Prepare minor mathematical calculations and quantity calculations for roadway/bridge projects -Research applicable design codes and guidelines to ensure design compliance -Research design options and documents findings -Work with engineers to develop 3D models using both Open Road Designer and Open Bridge Designer -Coordinates assignments with project team and supervisor -Perform quality control reviews of design plans and calculations -Contribute to project production sheets by adding dimensions and laying out plans, title and detail sheets on production sets of plans

Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines -Experience in Open Road Designer is preferred -Familiar with TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual and TxDOT Bridge Standards -Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment -Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred -3-10 years of prior experience with structural and/or roadway drafting -Valid driver’s license -A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) -Associate degree from a technical or four-year school -Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus
