The Role

Overview

On‑site water quality control, stormwater compliance, and regulatory reporting for construction projects.

Tasks

-Interpret and apply the rules, regulations, and requirements of the California Water Resources Control Board and Regional Water Quality Control Boards. -Collect and maintain environmental and technical data for projects. -Interpret engineering plans, estimates, and specifications. -Work with environmental manager and project teams to implement water control and stormwater pollution prevention plans as necessary -Ensure all agency reporting requirements are met, including uploads to the SMART system are performed -Conduct on-site water control and stormwater pollution prevention inspections to insure compliance of company projects -Interpret and apply the California and Federal Water Quality Control Acts, water rights principles, and the policies, regulations, and requirements for the State Water Resources Control Board and Regional Water Quality Control Boards in all project areas.

What You Bring

-Principles of water quality control, water rights, and water resource management. -Possession of a master's degree in a biological, chemical, physical, or environmental science, soil science, water science, hydrology, agronomy, natural resource science, environmental or public health, physical geography, or a closely related scientific discipline may be substituted for one year of the required general experience; possession of a doctorate in the above-named disciplines may be substituted for two years of the general experience. -California State General Permit Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP) -California State General Permit SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) -Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil or professional engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers -Three to five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in water quality control, water pollution control, sanitary, environmental, chemical, civil, or water rights engineering, or a related field in the State of California. -Physical, biological, and chemical factors relating to the control of water pollution and quality, and the management of surface and ground water.
