Tasks

-Deliver high quality technical reports -Delivery of accurate, timely and cost effective integrity services that meet client, Stantec and industry/regulatory standards -Support maintenance and updates to assessment criteria in accordance with evolving industry practices and stay abreast of emerging technologies -Adhere to Stantec’s engineering Quality System -Assessment of CP (and potentially AC interference) survey data -To assist our AC mitigation team in field data collection -Contribute to Stantec Specifications, Procedures and Standards as part of Stantec’s continuous improvement. -Keep current on applicable pipeline and integrity codes and standards -Establish and maintain positive client relationships -Liaise with other divisions of Stantec -Strengthen knowledge through on-the-job, informal and formal training -Design and evaluation of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and stray current mitigation (field and office) -To assist in integrity assessments including fitness for service, defect assessments, risk assessments, and varying other integrity program activities. Your Responsibilities -Mentor junior personnel and collaborate with other peers -Potential field work consisting of soil resistivity testing, structure potentials, right-of-way evaluations, and constructability assessments for AC mitigation and cathodic protection systems -To perform third party reviews of reports and designs related to corrosion and cathodic protection. -Third party review of CP and AC interference designs, reports, and inspection and commissioning data. -Perform engineering calculations (resistance, attenuation, current distribution, etc.) -Prepare technical assessment and design reports, as well as procedures and specifications -Coordinate engineering aspects of installation of stray current mitigation and cathodic protection systems -Design CP systems and DC interference mitigation systems, as well as assist in AC mitigation designs as required -Develop detailed designs as required and collaborate with drafting personnel to prepare design drawing packages

What You Bring

-University Degree in an engineering discipline (corrosion, electrical, or materials engineering is preferred.) -Coatings experience and/or certification beneficial, but not required -Understanding of pipeline fitness for service assessments and integrity management programs. -Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License. -Enjoy working in dynamic Team environment -Proven initiative, flexibility and adaptability -Two to Four (2-4) years of work experience in the corrosion industry required. -Sound technical background and understanding of CP, interference, and corrosion, including field data gathering and troubleshooting -Good organizational skills -Experienced with working with Federal projects is a plus. -Sound interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills are essential -Experienced with working with TXDOT and other public utilities is a plus. -AC interference mitigation experience beneficial but not required. -Minimum AMPP certification level CP1 is required. CP2 is preferred. -Experienced with U.S. standards, practices and applicable legislation -Comply with Stantec’s EH&S program, with a focus on safety in the field -Strong work ethic and self-motivation -Professional Engineer (P.E.), Required
