The Role

Overview

Identify and expose underground utilities using locators, GPR, and vacuum excavation.

Tasks

-Work with a team of talented individuals to help tackle a wide variety of projects. -Utilize appropriate maintenance of traffic. -Call “One-Call” tickets. -Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities. -Train junior crew members. -Will sometimes be lifting heavy equipment up to 80 lbs. -Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE. -Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. -Supervise activities of field crew. -Represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field and communicate/coordinate with utility companies. -Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings and highway design plans.

What You Bring

-Proficient communication & internal collaboration skills. -May need to work nights/weekends. -Need to be able to occasionally travel out of town and work overtime. -Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies. -Minimum 2 years experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies. -Experience with vacuum excavation preferred. -Should have basic computer skills and be able to learn and understand new software. -Should enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. -Need to have good driving skills and a clean driving record. -Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Should be able to walk long distances of several miles daily.
