Construction Pile Driver/Carpenter Foreman (Union Position)

Overview

Oversee pile driving and carpentry crews on bridge projects, ensuring safety & schedule.

Tasks

-Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. -Provide guidance to union craft employees on proper techniques and safety practices. -Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance and quality standards. -Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project Superintendents. -Working with the Superintendent to schedule work assignments and manage workflow to optimize productivity. -Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to facilitate project goals. -Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure conformance with specifications -Conducts safety meetings with union craft employees; explains in detail the work to be accomplished and how it is to be accomplished -Supervise and coordinate activities of construction workers and subcontractors. -Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and labor hours. -Resolve/report conflicts and address any issues that arise on the job site.

What You Bring

-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Exposure to moving mechanical parts. -Must be well versed in the use of the EFCO forming system. -Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry; experience in a supervisory role preferred. -Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest. -High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction management or related fields preferred. -The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. -Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. -Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. -Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain. -Extensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.). -Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. -Must be able to bend, stoop, and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment. -Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations. -Acts as OSHA defined “competent person” on job -Member in good standing of the local union. -Excellent leadership and team management skills. -Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
