The Role

Overview

Industrial placement working on bridge design, CAD, site visits and project support.

Tasks

-Producing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings and supporting structural design tasks. -Applying health and safety practices during site and office-based tasks, while considering sustainability principles. -Reviewing and analysing technical data to inform engineering decisions. -Assisting with project administration, record-keeping, and documentation. -Collaborating with engineers and other professionals across AECOM disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. -Contributing to problem-solving and developing design solutions under supervision. -Participating in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.

What You Bring

-Willingness to travel for project-related site visits as required. -Some prior exposure to an engineering environment (e.g., placement, shadowing, or relevant coursework) is desirable. -Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD software is an advantage but not essential. -Strong attention to detail, methodical thinking, and problem-solving ability. -Currently pursuing a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with an expected 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or higher. -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. -Creative, practical, adaptable, and enthusiastic mindset.
