Lead cost management for government projects, overseeing budgets, contracts and teams.

Tasks

-Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering. -Leading the commercial delivery of various projects. -Establishing professional and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support. -Managing, supporting, and mentoring junior staff members. -Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycle. -Providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders. -Effectively managing contract changes, ensuring projects remain within governance and adopt best practices. -Cost Planning/Estimating. -Driving improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets. -Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget. -Proactively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and correct applications. -Ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed. -Managing the cost of various contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.

What You Bring

-A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle -Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering. -A wide variety of project experience gained over at least 5 years. -Degree or HNC level qualification -Contract Management (JCT and NEC forms of contract). -Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time. -Professionally qualified is desired (MRICS or similar) -Excellent communication with stakeholders.
