Tasks

-Provide basic support in the areas of inspection and surveying activities for road and infrastructure construction. -Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgement and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. -Exercise judgement limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. -Assist in the design of transportation roadway and infrastructure projects. -Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps, and data presentation, and report development. -Undertake field preliminary design and construction surveys, setting line and grade, quantity measurements and calculations. -Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.

What You Bring

-Availability to work in the field 95% of the time. -Willingness and ability to learn industry-standard software pertinent to the position. -The candidate must currently be pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Technical Certificate with an emphasis on infrastructure, transportation, or other related fields. -Basic knowledge of industry-standard software for the position (examples include software such as; MS Excel, MS Word, Civil 3D/AutoCAD). -Must have completed one year of study in the applicable program. -Possess a valid driver's license.
