Entry-level assessor conducts building condition evaluations and provides cost recommendations.

Tasks

-Provides recommendations and cost estimates for building envelopes, components and systems repair or replacement for inclusion in the capital budget plan. -Completes reporting using BGIS software for use in RealAsset – our BGIS developed Asset Management software. -Completes site visits at client real estate locations and performs building component identification and condition evaluation.

What You Bring

-Proficient with MS Excel and ability to learn other applications quickly. -General knowledge of the process of cost estimating for replacement and repair of building components and systems. -Ability to work independently and learn quickly. -Strong computer skills. -Valid drivers’ license with ability to travel 50-70%. -General knowledge of technical standards and process in completing building condition assessments, in particular American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Practice E2018-15 “Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property Condition Assessment Process” would be an asset. -General knowledge of general building design, construction and facility operation of commercial buildings. -General knowledge of building science including base knowledge of all areas of study - architectural building envelope, mechanical and electrical building systems or site components. -Strong written communication skills. -University or college diploma in relevant technical field such as architectural, civil, mechanical electrical engineering, building science or building engineering. -Enrolled as EIT,P. Eng, C.Tech or RET an asset. -Entry level position but 1-3 Years of relevant work experience would be an asset.
