The Role

Overview

Perform lab testing, instrument troubleshooting, and quality control in a CLIA lab.

Tasks

-Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. -Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. -Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. -Assist with processing of specimens when needed. -Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. -Report accurate and timely test results. -Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. -Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. -Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. -Testing production samples on chemistry and Automated Immunology platforms. -Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

What You Bring

-High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. -ASCP or AMT certification is preferred. -Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. -Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related field -Prior validation experience. -Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a CLIA certified or CAP accredited lab. -Ability to work independently and within a team environment. -Experience with instrument troubleshooting and calibration. -Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
