Tasks

We are looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and engineer dynamometer and related system mechanical components of innovation and excellence. -Supports the Production and Commissioning Departments during equipment build and installation. -Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components. -Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes. -Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods -Design and provide drawings for systems and components that meet needs and requirements -Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions -Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties. -Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement) -Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety -Prepare product reports and documentation including but not limited to operational manuals, produce specifications, etc. -Test and evaluate theoretical designs -Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems -Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

What You Bring

Ideally you will have a background of rotating equipment; such as, compressors, turbines, pumps, motors, engine test equipment and/or machinery that operates through rotational motion. -Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (MATLAB, Excel, LabView etc) -Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE) -Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) -Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc. -Creativity and analytical skills -Preferably 5 years proven working experience in mechanical engineering -Strong technical writing skills -Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner -Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar) -Manufacturing experience preferred -Experience with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools. Preferably Solid Works (e.g., AutoCAD or other) -BSME degree -Dynamometer engineering experienced preferred

Benefits

Salary: £45K - £55K depending on experience -25 Days Plus Bank Holidays. Bank Holidays • Pension, Company Benefits and 36.75 hour week (Mon-Thurs - 08:00am-16:30pm Fri 0800am-12:45pm).
