The Role
Overview
Estimate labor, time, and material costs for commercial and multi-family construction projects.

Tasks
-Solicit and review subcontractor proposals and assist with contract negotiations. -Utilize spreadsheets and company software to input dimensions and other data to calculate projected costs of proposed projects. -Prepare detailed cost estimates of materials by analyzing plans and specifications. -Review blueprints, product specifications, and utilize company software to accurately determine time, cost, labor, and quantities of materials needed for projects. -Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation for the duration of the project. -Send out bids and track actual costs relative to bids as project develops. -Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services through the duration of the project. -Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates. -Perform quality take-offs. -Document total materials needed and contact information necessary to process orders. -Work with architects as needed for changes, questions, etc. on blueprints and building plan documents.

What You Bring
-Ability to read blueprints -Ability to multi-task and estimate multiple projects at a time. -HS diploma or GED -10 years’ experience estimating in the construction industry -Excellent problem-solving skills. -5+ years’ experience estimating in single-family or multi-family construction -Bachelor’s degree is preferred -Ability to travel to job sites as needed -Previous experience with Stack, Procore, Pro Est, Building Connected, Adobe, Revu, Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Auto Desk -Proficiency with Microsoft office
