- Or Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Must have good attention to detail, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present information.
- Must have a good understanding of structural design principles, or an aptitude to develop.
- Illinois Professional Engineering (PE) or Structural Engineering License (SE)preferred or ability to obtain.
- Applies strong knowledge of commonly used civil and structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the transportation industry.
- 5 years structural engineering experience in the design of highway structures for IDOT, Illinois Tollway preferred. EPC design experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software including MicroStation and Open Bridge Modeler.
- Experience with design software including MDX, LEAP Bridge, AASHTOWare, Midas Civil , or other comparable technical design and modeling software.
- Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (e,g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering a plus.
