Tasks

-Present robust engineering solutions at design reviews -Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible -Supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people -The Senior Electronics Engineer will perform, but not be limited to the following type of activities centred on the development and delivery of electronics associated with electro optical systems:Undertake design of complex electronic circuit assemblies or architectures, from concept through to system integration & qualificationLead discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (systems, mechanical, software, safety, etc) to develop an optimum solutionWork collaboratively with the project team to ensure products meet all their requirements and comply with regulatory safety and environmental standardsContribute to the development of the wider electronics team, including mentoring junior members of staff, overseeing the implementation of improvements and reviewing the work of peersGenerate electronics specifications, architectures, and development or verification plansSupport the bid process through generation of estimates and consultancy on electronic solutionsPresent robust engineering solutions at design reviewsMonitor progress of work against cost, schedule and performance -Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure products meet all their requirements and comply with regulatory safety and environmental standards -Monitor progress of work against cost, schedule and performance -Contribute to the development of the wider electronics team, including mentoring junior members of staff, overseeing the implementation of improvements and reviewing the work of peers -Development of electronic products in a formal environment -Communicating and promoting vacancies -Support the bid process through generation of estimates and consultancy on electronic solutions -Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required -Offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the job -Generate electronics specifications, architectures, and development or verification plans -Undertake design of complex electronic circuit assemblies or architectures, from concept through to system integration & qualification -Lead discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (systems, mechanical, software, safety, etc) to develop an optimum solution

What You Bring

We are looking for an energetic and driven individual with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with defence or aerospace electronics experience. The role covers all aspects of the product lifecycle, from requirements through specification, concept studies, design and development, integration, validation and qualification. This is an opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to build on their existing technical skills, widen their systems understanding and develop their career. -UK sole National -Ability/willingness to work minimum 3 days per week at the client site in Reading or Glasgow -Experience testing at circuit board and system level (e.g. board bring-up and debug, EMC testing) -General understanding of engineering process and design lifecycles applicable for the development of high reliability military electronics -Proficient in the use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar) -A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable relevant experience in lieu -Proficient in the generation of sub-system requirements/procurement specs -Strong demonstrated experience of electronic design throughout the design lifecycle -BPSS Cleared -Degree level qualification in Electronics Engineering or closely related discipline. -Holds or able to obtain SC
