Tasks

-Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for projects within the £100k – £2m range. -Conduct material take-offs, labour analysis, and subcontractor/supplier pricing. -Manage tender submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines. -Assist in value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives. -Provide clear handovers to project delivery teams post-award. -Review project specifications, drawings, and scope documentation to develop accurate cost proposals. -Liaise with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure estimate accuracy. -Develop and maintain estimating templates, cost databases, and pricing models.

What You Bring

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading mechanical and electrical contractor seeking an experienced Estimator, ideally with a strong mechanical background. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical-focused projects ranging from £100,000 up to £2 million in value. Estimator (Mechanical Background) -Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. -Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills. -Proven experience as an Estimator within the mechanical, M&E, or construction sector. -Strong mechanical engineering knowledge or trade background. -Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines. -Demonstrable experience estimating projects between £100k – £2m. -Comfortable working full-time in the Essex office.
