Tasks

-Provide advice to project leadership regarding environmental matters as they relate to construction activities. -Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. -Provide training to employees and contractors on environmental awareness. -Maintain the Environmental Management System and ensure compliance with applicable best practices, regulations, Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and site-specific plans. -Monitor and report any potential environmental issues and recommendations for appropriate mitigation and corrective actions. -Work with project coordinators/managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed in accordance with an established scope of work. -Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed in compliance with all relevant client requirements as well as provincial and/or federal regulations. -Provide reports and attend on-site meetings as required. -Track key project performance indicators and develop reports. -Monitor construction activities and evaluate compliance with applicable standards, contract documents and client commitments. -Draft, review and submit daily field reports, incident reports, and compliance audits. -Develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs and policies.

What You Bring

-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint). -Experience working successfully in large, multi-disciplinary engineering design teams and heavy civil construction teams. -Technical diploma, B.Sc., or equivalent with appropriate qualifications for work in Canada with a minimum of three years’ experience conducting construction site environmental monitoring activities. -Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, coordinating resources as well as the ability to solve problems. -A valid driver’s license. -Relevant professional certification (e.g., PBiol, BIT, Trainee RBTech, AAg, EPt, etc.) or ability to obtain is an asset. -Certification in environmental specialty area preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. -Strong knowledge of Provincial and Federal regulations, codes, permits and approvals, as well as their technical application.
