What You Bring
-Knowledge and experience with monitoring labor compliance. -Knowledge and experience with subcontracting laws and policies. -Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills -Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction -A minimum of five (5) years of responsible experience performing the duties as a Structure Representative, or ten (10) years of responsible experience as an Assistant Structure Representative, for similar Caltrans and/or Caltrans Oversight projects involving construction of CIP PT Box Girder Bridges, Caltrans Standard and Modified Retaining Walls, Overhead Sign Structures, Machine Soil Mixing (MSM), Large Diameter CIDH Piles in Dry & Wet conditions using Oscillators and/or temporary casings, independent review and analysis of temporary structures such as falsework, shoring, column guying, bridge removal / demolition etc. -Knowledge and experience with equipment used in structure construction inspection, surveying, and construction office engineering. -Knowledge and experience with analyzing construction claims and reviewing cost. -Knowledge and experience with principles of effective communication. -Possess a valid American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) or California Test Methods (CTM), or American Concrete Institute (ACI) -Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents -Knowledge and experience in keeping complete, accurate, and concise records of the work and quantities. -Possess a Standard First Aid Certificate -Possess a valid Driver's License -Knowledge and experience with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and the General Permit. -Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position -A minimum of 10 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects -Registered professional engineer licensed in the State of California in good standing with the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists at all times while assigned to work on this contract and in the Task Orders. -Must be able to work in a team environment -Experience in Dispute Review Board (DRB) meetings and preparing position paper. -Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages -Knowledge of computers, computer applications, and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others); Critical Path Method (CPM) software such as Primavera Project Planner (P3, P6) and SureTrak, or any updated version, as a minimum; Scheduler Analyzer Pro; and Microsoft Project. -Knowledge of Caltrans Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, and Construction Manual. -Proper background clearance, as necessary, when performing work on or near the rail system. -Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
