Tasks
-Move equipment as needed in the facility, relocate or rearrange hardware as the mission changes. -Perform network maintenance and system upgrades. -Tasks require worker to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and stand for prolonged periods to perform work and inspect work areas. -Install, configure, and maintain network equipment and services. -Employees may interact with staff and/or public and private representatives and contractors in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures. -Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. -The position involves field work requiring frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. -This position performs approximately 50% office-related or administrative tasks, including computer-based system monitoring, report generation, training, reading and interpreting data and technical specifications, and documentation retention tasks. -Work in confined spaces and around machines, climb and descend ladders, stairs, and ramps, -Diagnosing and resolving network issues, ensuring seamless data communication and connectivity. -Work in and around a multi-floor, multi-level building, operate a motor vehicle and drive on public surface streets, Perform light to medium physical work. -Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. -Operate various hand and power tools and equipment, and send and receive communication through printed material, computer screen, in-person, and over telephone or radio. -In addition to operating the system and resolving common error conditions, this worker diagnoses and acts on machine stoppage and error conditions not fully covered by existing procedures and guidelines (e.g., resetting switches and other controls or making mechanical adjustments to maintain or restore equipment operations). -Make hardware and software updates.

What You Bring
-Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. -Employees must possess the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment. -Will need to interface with multiple stand-alone vendor systems. -Must possess mobility to. -Solid understanding of network operating systems. -Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a professional and effective manner. -Must be a U.S citizen. -Must be able to obtain TS/SCI. -In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, the Computer Operator III may deviate from standard procedures if standard procedures do not provide a solution and refers problems which do not respond to corrective procedures to a person of supervisory or higher individual contributor level. -The Computer Operator III processes a range of scheduled routines. -Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate tools and equipment. -Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools. -Proven work experience as a Network Technician or similar role in IT. -Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. -Certification in IT or Network architecture. -Knowledge of fire alarming, elevator, SCADA, water filtration, building management, gas detection, and irrigation systems is desired.
