Tasks

-Ensures that all engineering deliverables for assigned projects are identified and prioritized in a project execution plan. Measures engineering's on-time delivery performance for critical deliverables. Helps define, implement and monitor measurements for continuous improvement of engineering performance and product cost reductions. -Participates in key engineering design reviews. Enforces conformance with defined requirements and ensures that corrective actions are completed as required. -Assesses and evaluates Mechanical & Electrical systems and control systems and strategies for efficiency: -Develops, implements and maintains engineering and technical standards, specifications and documentation for assigned area. Stays abreast of industry related standards and invokes these standards into the engineering process. -System optimization for applicable unit process areas. -Develop objectives for assigned areas and ensures alignment with overall company strategies and objectives. Helps define and monitor Engineering policies and procedures for assigned area and synchronizes with project management and operations functions. -Offers consultancy, action planning and optimization implementation strategies as the regional subject matter expert in wastewater unit process control -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. -Supports Sales and Marketing with technical strategy and experience to maintain current accounts and to capture new business.

What You Bring

-Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Requires close visual observation to detect process non-conformance and machine malfunction. -Over ten years progressive experience in design, project, construction, or management of wastewater treatment plants and ability to troubleshoot and solve water / wastewater treatment process/ operations problems. -Desired candidate will have experience in industrial pre-treatment. -Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to effectively manage resources (personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, funds and reputation). -May be required to use the stairs, ladders, catwalks and supports at heights of 50 feet above the ground. -Demonstrated effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel. -Must be able to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by site. -Supervisory experience (personnel and project supervision) with demonstrated ability to diagnose complex process problems and manage remedial action. -Highest level of certification as a water / wastewater treatment operator if required by site. If from another state, requires achieving certification within one year of appointment to Engineering Manager. -Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time. -Strong PC skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database software and the ability to optimize the use of technology and systems to communicate, manage budget and to streamline processes and increase efficiency. -Valid Driver's license and safe driving record. -Typically spends 50% of time in an operations environment, in Milwaukee, and 50% of time in an office environment. Travels 50% of the time to assigned area. -Is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and enter confined spaces. -Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures. -Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports. -Demonstrates ability to develop unique solutions for complex technical problems that may include the design of new systems or development of solutions having few or no precedents. -Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). -Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer and/or 10 yrs experience in wastewater treatment and biosolids management. -Ability to develop and design treatment strategies and protocols with follow up to assist in plant implementation. -Amount of time spent - Standing 25%, Sitting 25%, Walking 50%. -May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Demonstrated knowledge of the standard practices, common tools, materials, occupational hazards and safety precautions of water / wastewater treatment plant and thorough working knowledge of NPDES regulations and permitting process. -Desired candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the use of Python or R for data analysis.
